Resume
Philip Kenan
Austin, Texas
EXPERIENCE:
Present Position: Typesetter - Ralph's One-Day Resumes, Austin
Supervisor: Ralph Pederson
Duties: Typeset business cards and resumes on
night shift
Past Position: Printer/Drafter - MicroMeg, Fairfax, Virginia
Supervisor: Ronald Bickwithers
Duties: Drew flowcharts and other graphics,
both freehand and on a computer
EDUCATION:
BS in English Literature - University of Northern Virginia
REFERENCES:
Amelia Price - girlfriend. We lived together in Fairfax. She
broke up with me and moved to Austin, and I followed her. I
want her back, but she thinks I'm crazy, just because
MicroMeg's basement contained the accursed gate-keeper, Yog-
Sothoth, the one who would usher in the Old Ones, the blight
from black Space and Time.
Lily Metcalf - my therapist. Since I moved to Austin, I've been
talking to her about my problems: how no-one else seems to
notice that Cthulhu, himself, is on his way and will be here
in no time.
Al Bingham - co-worker and friend. Just might be my ace-in-the
hole. Knows more than he's letting on. Might help me find a
copy of the "Necronomicon," with its incantations that repel
demons.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Have written a 2,000-page novel: "The
Despicable Quest," about the obscure (but real) monsters
from H.P. Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness" and other
works. Amelia says that it is the cause of my mental
problems.
If hired, I promise to attend all meetings, though I might not be
able to give my undivided attention to them, and I promise to stay
out of the basement. I will not work for any organization,
however, that employs a security guard named Hal Ketch.
Please do NOT call the owner of Hal's One-Day Resumes for a
reference. He's conjured monsters in his office, and once the
ancient, hideous wisdom pierces someone, they're lost.
My foremost achievement, and the chief reason for you to retain me,
is that Steve Brock gave a book I'm in a grade of A in
rec.arts.books.reviews.
Also by Spencer: "Maybe I'll Call Anna" (1990), and "The Return of
Count Electric and Other Stories" (1993).
